Not Sure What’s Worse.
Being stuck at an airport for three hours or being stuck at an airport for three hours and not being able to check email, play on Facebook/MySpace, etc. SIGH.
So my flight was already an hour and a half ahead of Carol’s which really isn’t all that bad considering it takes a half hour just to get my luggage at the baggage claim and go to the restroom. I was even in a bit of a hurry because her flight is coming in at a different terminal and I had to figure out how to get there. Only to find out, of course, that the shuttle runs about once an hour. Anyway, I finally get here (to her terminal) and discover her flight is delayed an additional hour and a half. Bah.
I’m remaining strong, though. I’m totally serious about being disconnected from my email and social networking sites. God forbid I blow it on the first day. Ha.
I had barely eaten anything by the time I got here. I snagged a small bag of Smartfood White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn during my short layover in Washington, D.C. Of course, everything here is closed already except for this dinky little stand that looks similar to the “ready-made food” area of your local 7-Eleven. I decide to invest in a $7.50 turkey wrap. Big mistake. I forced half of it down and threw the rest away.
I still have faith that tomorrow and the rest of my trip will be awesome. I’m staying positive here.
