MHB and HMB.
While Fridays are normally my recovery days from tiresome work weeks — and frankly, just an excuse I use because I can’t party like I used to — I was itching to be out and about in San Francisco last night. One of my best girlfriends was performing a number at the Rockit Room last night with the MotherHumbuckers (MHB) who were hosting their CD release party there. The vibe was nice, the music was dope, and Maria was awesome. Video to come.
Before heading to the Rockit Room, Holden and I were itching for a good hamburger (HMB). After hearing really great things about Harvey’s on the Castro, we headed there. Just our luck — the grill is broken. WHAT?? I mean, come on… what are the chances? So we head out to Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers just up the street in Noe Valley.
I don’t even remember what my burger tasted like because I’m still not over their Spicy Curly Fries that were served with what they called Ranch. We knew better, though. It was Cranch (Crack + Ranch), for sure. Not the best burger or fries I’ve had in my life, but certainly a great find on a Friday night. Thanks, Holden. Any excuse to celebrate my birthday one month later is darn fine by me!

Hey Gemma, thanks for coming out to the show! We had a great time and would love to see your face in the audience again! Kookie did a really good job, and we were happy to perform with her again. Maybe if she gets motivated she will finish the song that she and I started writing last year! Oh, and thanks for posting the video!

@rocky. no problem! i’ll apologize on behalf of kookie’s boyfriend (matt) for the shaky hands and random pause midway through.
(that’s my way of saying “it wasn’t me”)
