Every time I travel by air, the first thing I do once I’m situated in my seat is flip through the SkyMall Catalog. I previously worked for a small manufacturer that distributed through SkyMall, so my obsession originally started when I left the company and was trying to see how long they’d last in the catalog before their ad was pulled.

I don’t spend much time really looking at all the items in the catalog, but there are a few that I ALWAYS look for regardless of how stupid the items really seem. This bug vacuum is the perfect example. What may seem to be a really silly idea has managed to be re-considered as very practical in my mind. Perhaps it’s a result of my height (or lack thereof) and the ongoing need to aim and jump when killing most bugs. In case you haven’t had experience with this, the success rate of the “aim and jump” technique is not very high, especially when you get caught up in the fear of missing and having the bug jump onto you instead. Not fun! And at about $50, it’s a more realistic purchase than the Roomba that’s been on my wishlist for 3+ years now!

Even after seeing the Chilled Shot Machine, the bug vacuum is still my ultimate SkyMall fantasy.

I know you have a SkyMall fantasy, too… care to share?

As for me.. I’m a gadget freak. Any of those cool gadgets in the skymall mag would be up for grabs… until you see the price tag!
    :)

  3. My weakness is make-up and skincare so I always go to that page first.
I love the new layout. I also included you in my Friend’s Blogroll.

  4. @IAmLawson. i didn’t link you guys to the XXX-pose. hahaha!

@Strong One. thanks! i hear you about the price tags… that’s probably why i always focus on that darn bug vacuum which is somewhat “affordable”. haha.

@Bingkee. thanks, i returned the favor and went ahead and updated by blogroll altogether. i was procrastinating! i’m always inclined to look at the makeup/skincare stuff, but the pimple popper thing grosses me out, so i don’t stay on the page very long! haha.

  5. When my husband goes away to NY for business he usually brings back SkyMall, and Im intrigued on the list of products that they have in there! Some great innovative ideas but also some dumb ones! I especially love the Bug Vac, my husband is scared of spiders so that might just be one of his Xmas pressies… hehehe ;) Love the new layout hunny xxx

  6. @Ria. thank you! you’ll have to let me know how the bug vac works out if you go that route. haha. i’m seriously considering purchasing one… well, once i’m working again!

  7. DUDE. micro fiber bath mat. Anyway, I always look at that one and question how dry it can actually stay and then wonder how I would wash it. Add Turkish robes to the list, too.

  8. @digga. i’ve eyed the micro fiber bath mat, too! wondering if it was legit… same as the travel toothbrush sanitizer. haha! and let’s not forget the giant crossword puzzle — i’ve always been curious!
