A Jar For Every Goal?

Yes, folks. If you are saving up for a boob job — err, breast augmentation — well, you can start here! To each their own, I guess. It really should be bigger, though. Believe me. Ha!

I was taking a look at the list and decided it was time for me to kick it up a notch. (Sorry, Emeril.) There are quite a few things on my list that will require me to actually make a conscious effort in order to complete them. And well, I guess that’s really the point of the challenge. Heh.

Because I’m not working anymore, the ones that require a direct amount of money are obviously on hold for now. So here are the five challenges I’m actually going to focus on for the next couple of weeks:

011 |   | make a hot breakfast… on a weekday [holidays don't count!]
020 |   | send flowers to a member of the opposite sex
024 |   | donate blood
030 |   | be vegetarian for a week [diet must be vegetable-centric!]
068 |   | submit a photo in a contest

I can already picture your face, Lori — “vegetarian for a week?!” Am I right?

So here’s the deal. Aside from random errands and purely social get-togethers, I’m spending a lot of time doing things around the house these days, including cooking. I love, love, love, LOVE to cook, but up until recently, I haven’t had much time. My last two projects were pies — a pumpkin pie and an egg custard pie. Both were forgettable in my opinion, but I’ve never been a great baker. (I remember feeding my brothers blue cookies a la my Easy Bake Oven eons ago. Food coloring was awesome when I was seven!)

I’m learning that I’m more successful with my “trial by error” approach than a recipe-based approach, so I’m not going to bother with searching for new recipes. Instead, I’m going to alter dishes that I’ve already mastered to make them more… veggie-esque. But who am I kidding?! If you have great veggie-based or salad recipes to share, please do!

If you have any pointers, recipes, or even a “Become a Vegetarian” piggy bank, please let me know! ;)
