It’s a Wrap! #6 [05.02.2009]

Still working on that “catch-up” post, so keep an eye out. I promise you will find it quite equivalent to the craziest reality TV series you can think of. ;)

It’s Saturday, the week’s a wrap, and here are the things that made me smile this week:

On Sunday, I was recovering from last week’s trek out to Tracy to see my nephew perform at the local airport’s 80th anniversary celebration. I was also recovering from my favorite girl’s birthday party which, by the way, I had arrived to early and took a power nap in my car in front of the bar waiting for everyone else to get there. If that doesn’t make you feel old, I don’t know what else could do it!

Monday was a fantastic day because it was the day my 13-page formal report on trade practices and business ethics (or lack thereof) in the Philippines was due. And that meant I would not have to do any further reading, research, or writing on that topic probably for the rest of my life. One can only hope! Also, I pigged out at McDonald’s with Lori. First time in a looooooong time!

On Tuesday I trekked back out to Tracy with my brother and the kids to visit our other brother and his family. I love that my nieces think I’m probably the coolest and most beautiful girl in the world. The minute I walk in, it’s always “Auntie Gemma, I love your boots!” or “Auntie Gemma, I really like your hair like that.”

At this point, I don’t even remember what I did on Wednesday. Haha. Oops!

Thursday was a grand day because I got to spend some quality time with Favorite Dog. Even though it included a lot of work like walking her, giving her a bath, and brushing her teeth, it’s always worth it when I realize that at the end of the day, she’d rather snuggle with me than Favorite Guy. Haha, j/k. (Sort of.)

Fridays are always one of my favorite days because I get to sleep in, but this one was especially wonderful. I woke up to the following text: “On May 1st, 2009 at 10:41AM, Mariel Erika Danao saw light!!” One of my bestest friends in the whole world, Eric (Hi Eric.), and his beautiful wife Kaye welcomed their gorgeous little baby girl into the world! They have a pic of me holding her in their camera, but typical new parents… they’re slacking off on uploading pictures because they’re all obsessed about their new princess. But I won’t lie, I’m pretty obsessed, too!. ;)

Things to look forward to today? Well, hopefully I’ll catch a glimpse of Manny Pacquiao whooping on Hatton in the ring. He says he’s ready and I’m ready to see it… although homework comes first. Finals are around the corner so I’ve got my game face on!
