In Search Of.
…a hopeless place.
Despite her weird “poppy-rock” songs, I’ve always been a fan of Jessie J’s voice. She’s got some pipes. I came across this cover of Rihanna’s We Found Love recently posted on Idolator.com and I thought she did an amazing job. Much better than the original in my opinion.
Jessie J’s rendition really moved me. Trying to find that hopeless place where love lives. Sigh…
Snarly-poo.
Bailey’s got that extra pug skin on her snout, so a lot of times, she’ll get the skin propped up over one of her teeth. We like to call it her snarl face. The adorable thing about it is that the rest of her face stays puppy-like and innocent.
These are our favorite pictures to take of her, so expect to see them often.

Sweet Tooth.
We had a little sweet tooth while going for a walk on Burlingame Avenue today and stopped by Teacake Bake Shop to pick up a few cupcakes. Today we picked a Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Cupcake with Chocolate Buttercream and a Banana Chocolate Chip Cupcake.
Ironically, we have purchased cupcakes from this bake shop on SEVERAL occasions. SEVERAL. Yet we have never–not once–actually eaten even a morsel of one of their cupcakes. One time, we had put them in the fridge and forgot about them. For a while. Like, weeks. Another time, we had left the bag on the table of the restaurant we stopped and had lunch at. I could go on and on. My goal today is to eat these cupcakes. This is serious!

Birdy.
Now, I LOVE good covers (so much that I have an awesome Spotify playlist with some of my faves), but one like this (below) by a 15-year-old (?!?!?!?!) is simply mind-blowing to me. Reminds me of my nephew & niece duo, Aaron and Allison.
According to Wikipedia, Jasmine van den Bogaerde (born 15 May 1996), also known by her stage name Birdy, is an English musician. She won the music competition Open Mic UK in 2008, at the age of 12. Her version of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” was released in January 2011.
I’d first heard this song in the first episode of the BBC’s Prisoners’ Wives online. (Before you judge me, I’ve had an unusual recent interest in watching shows/movies and reading books that have characters, actresses, or writers named Gemma in or around them. Okay, NOW you can judge.)
The song is beautiful. And timely.
Sun-Dried.
Someone is freshly bathed and is looking for that sun-kissed feel.

Sorry, I just can’t get enough.
